ESPRESSO EDITIONS #10

Join us on Sunday, June 1, from 3-4 pm at Books & Books for Espresso Editions #10, featuring Steve Saiz and Lillian Banderas, the founders of Dále Zine. This conversation offers a chance to get to know the creative duo behind one of Miami’s most beloved art bookshop gallery. They’ll share what inspired them to launch Dále Zine, how the project has evolved over time, and the many ways they continue to support the print community and champion independent publishing.

Hosted by Amanda Keeley, Espresso Editions is a conversation series dedicated to publishing, creativity, and cultural advocacy, generously supported by the City of Coral Gables.

About:

Dále Zine is a vibrant art bookshop and gallery founded by Steve Saiz and Lillian Banderas, located in Miami’s Design District. What began in 2009 as an independent publishing venture has evolved into a dynamic 2,500-square-foot space showcasing hundreds of independently published works and rotating art exhibitions.

A Spell To Grow A Garden – Zine Release with Arsimmer McCoy & MAVEN Leadership Collective

Join us for the release of A Spell to Grow a Garden, a collaborative zine by poet and cultural worker Arsimmer McCoy and the MAVEN Leadership Collective, powered by EXILE Projects.

Set in the historic home of Dr. Enid Pinkney—a trailblazer in the preservation of Black heritage spaces in Miami—this evening is a call to reflection, remembrance, and radical care. The project reimagines the cultivation and protection of Black communities and their allies as the tending of a garden. The “spell” is the intentional care, resistance, and legacy that sustains us.

Featuring performances by:
Mikah Amani (musician & poet)
Surayyah Muhammad (poet)
Iman Clark (dancer)
Gary Allen (Poet & Vice Chair of The Curtis Foundation)

This gathering is not just a celebration of new work—it is a rooted offering in a place where memory and possibility meet. Special thanks to The Green Haven Project Inc. for their support and sponsorship. Light refreshments will be served.
