Our Story
Founded in 2014, EXILE is dedicated to building a thriving print culture in Miami. Headquartered in Little Haiti, we create hubs for independent publishing that represent and serve our diverse community.
For five years, EXILE operated as a roaming pop-up artists’ bookstore, activating over 25 locations across the city. Conceived by visual artist and curator Amanda Keeley, EXILE fosters collaboration through partnerships with arts and cultural organizations, providing a platform for artists and small presses to showcase their work. Under our imprint, we have published more than 100+ books and zines by artists.
In 2023, the EXILE store found a permanent home at Books & Books in Coral Gables, one of our first pop-up locations. This partnership manages the sales and distribution of our titles, while the EXILE Book Cart, stationed at Books & Books, offers an ever-changing selection of independent and self-published print projects—embodying the vibrant and evolving spirit of South Florida’s print culture.
Mission
