Echos in the Ferns: A Cyanotype Zine Release & Workshop with Michelle Bardino Vela
Join us for the release of Echos in the Ferns by Michelle Bardino Vela, a beautifully immersive zine inspired by growing up in Florida—rich with childhood memories, archival family photographs, and the cycles of life captured through cyanotype art.
At this gathering, you’ll receive a free copy of the zine and take part in a hands-on cyanotype workshop. Together we’ll create a large collaborative artwork by layering images with fallen botanical materials—naturally shed leaves and stems—while reflecting on ancestry, family, and what connects us to South Florida.
The Florida landscape—its mangroves, ferns, and palms—serves as a connective thread, weaving together shared histories in this interactive, memory-rich experience.
All ages welcome! No prior experience needed, and all materials will be provided—just bring your curiosity and creativity.
