Book release: Hace Días que Duermo con el Pasaporte al Borde de la Cama by Jeilin Espine
Join us for a special evening celebrating the release of Hace Días que Duermo con el Pasaporte al Borde de la Cama, a new photobook by artist Jeilin Espinel. The event will feature a conversation between Espinel and the publisher Jaime Núñez del Arco of Terminal Ediciones.
About the Book:
With a title that resonates deeply in today’s world, Hace Días que Duermo con el Pasaporte al Borde de la Cama (Some Days I Sleep with My Passport at the Edge of the Bed) documents the migrant experience in Miami—a historic Latino enclave in the United States.
Through a lens of displacement, wonder, and longing, Jeilin captures fragments of her native Venezuela in the landscapes of Miami’s suburbs and highways. Her photographs explore questions of memory and belonging, asking:
Is home a physical place? Can memory become home? And where does the migrant carry that sense of home?
We hope you’ll join us for this timely and personal conversation.
