Artists, writers, poets, researchers, and creatives of all kinds are invited to pitch an original zine idea inspired by Miami and South Florida. What makes this place unlike anywhere else? We’re looking for ideas that explore the stories, cultures, histories, people, and environments that shape our region.
SUBMIT HEREDEADLINE: September 6th, 2026 Your zine can be about almost anything—our food, music, ecology, architecture, history, neighborhoods, traditions, subcultures, personal stories, disappearing places, backyard mango economies, questionable real estate decisions, things that grow where they shouldn’t, or something we haven’t even thought of yet. We want you to pitch us your idea. Tell us what you want to explore and why it belongs in a zine about this strange and wonderful place. EXILE’s Zine Machine program produces free broadside zines by local creatives and distributes them throughout Miami in retrofitted newspaper machines. Each selected project is produced in an edition of 1,000 and distributed free to the public. Selected creators receive an honorarium, and projects are chosen by an independent curator. Our Zine Machines are currently located at Books & Books (Coral Gables), Panther Coffee (Little Haiti), Gramps Getaway, Sweat Records, Locust Projects, and Bakehouse Art Complex. Have an idea?
