ESPRESSO EDITIONS #11
Join us Sunday, June 8, from 3–4 PM at Books & Books for the final talk in our Espresso Editions series, featuring Ingrid Schindall, founder of Miami Paper & Printing Museum (formerly IS Projects). A longtime advocate for print and book arts, Ingrid also co-founded Small Press Fair South Florida and Tropic Bound Artists' Book Fair. We’ll discuss her printmaking journey, community-based practice, and vision for the future of independent publishing in Miami.
Hosted by Amanda Keeley, Espresso Editions is a conversation series dedicated to publishing, creativity, and cultural advocacy, generously supported by the City of Coral Gables.
Bio:
Ingrid Schindall, b.1989, based in Miami, FL, has an art practice that spans the printed multiple, social organizing, and platform building. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and her artists' books are in many prominent special collections and private collections. She is the founder of Miami Paper & Printing Museum AKA IS Projects (2014 to present), a printmaking and book arts studio in Miami with the mission to promote innovations in print and book media through collaboration, education, and critical discourse. She is also a founder of Small Press Fair South Florida (2016 onward) a regional fair bringing together artists engaging in print, book and zine making. Most recently, she is a founder of Tropic Bound Artists' Book Fair, an international biennial artists' book fair in Miami.
Miami Paper & Printing Museum:
Miami Paper & Printing Museum (AKA IS Projects) is a public-access printmaking and book arts studio that strives to promote innovations and developments to print and book media by providing knowledge, training, and a supportive work space for South Florida's artists. A healthy print community is a sign of a thriving art scene so our role in Miami as the only fully staffed printmaking and book arts studio is vital. The studio houses letterpress, fine art printmaking and book arts equipment and offers workshops, hourly studio rental, artist residencies, internships, book binding services, edition printing and commercial printing.
